The Regional Development Portfolio strengthens WA’s regions which include the Gascoyne and ensures local priorities inform State decision-making.
Regional Development Portfolio
The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development work with the 9 Regional Development Commissions to implement the priorities. The Regional Development Council and the Western Australian Regional Development Trust provide statutory advice to the Minister for Regional Development, supported by the 9 Cabinet Minister representing each region.
The WA Regional Development Framework provides guidance across the entire Regional Development portfolio, enhancing strategic alignment among all entities.
